Do You Need a PCB Test For Your Printed Circuit Board?

One of the most important parts of electronics today is the PCB, which is an acronym for a printed circuit board. These are used in everything from DVD players to cell phones and just about any other electronic device. If the PCBs are not performing accurately, it means that the product will not perform accurately which can be bad for business for anyone who is in the electronics field. A PCB can be made by an outside source in order to get the highest quality.
In most cases, a PCB is made by a company that specializes in creating these products. They are created by using an epoxy over copper layers that are very thin. PCBs are often mass produced but they can also be created by hand. The newest electronic devices usually require more attention so that the PCBs can run properly, which means that the PCBs are created by hand instead of through a mass production process. This usually creates a higher quality product that can be used for the most state of the art electronic devices.
PCB services can be provided by a company that will work on a layout that will insure the best quality before they even begin the project. The PCBs can be similar to those that are mass produced, but will work more accurately. They can also be customized for an individual company or product as well. Those that are customized usually cost a bit more, but can offer something unique for those seeking out the PCB services that can even give them an edge over the competition when it comes to the electronic device. It is important that the PCBs are all of high quality in order for the electronic devices to be of the same high quality as this is the key component of the device.
It is important that when choosing a company for PCB services, you choose a company that has quality assurance when it comes to testing. The way to make sure that a PCB is of high quality is to conduct a PCB test. This should be part of the process when your company is outsourcing PCB services. A PCB test should be done on all of the components of the product to make sure that everything is working properly. This can prevent inferior products from coming out onto the market and thus giving your business a poor reputation. Your company can end up losing money and customers if a PCB test is not done on these electronic components.
PCB tests are a vital part of the electronics world. While there are many companies out there who will provide PCB services, you want to be sure that you find one that is reliable and will perform an accurate PCB test. One way to find a company is to take a look at their experience in the field and see the various PCB services they can offer. While you can find many companies that will provide you with PCB services as well as mass produced PCBs, you need to find a company that will stand behind their products with an accurate PCB test. This will give you the quality control that you need when it comes to your electronic devices as well as all of your PCBs.

What are the application and advantages of Spring-loaded test probes?

To make contact to various test points on printed circuit boards (PCBs), components and wiring fields, you can use the spring contact probes. When employed in special test modules, the probes can be used to test connector cable systems. These are also used inside a functional test station as part of a larger production line.

A spring contact test probe is made up of a tubular barrel, a spring and a plunger. This ensures the best contact with the test surface. They can also be mounted into receptacles where an electrical connection is made. This also allows test probes to be easily removed for repair or replacement.

Various applications for which spring loaded test probes are used –

Threaded Probes –These probes are meant for the threaded purpose. Good for a threaded fit as well as used for the test of wire harnessing.
High Current Probes – These probes are used for high current applications and designed for very small probe resistance.
Switch Probes – These are the special probes with integrated switch element, mainly used for presence.
Push Back Probes – During the pushback of connectors, the light seat of the connector elements are verified.

Radio Frequency Probes – Special Coaxial contact probes are used to transmit the high-frequency signals. The inner conductor of the coaxial probe is used for the transmission of the signal and an outer conductor for shielding.

The test probe is made of a metal tube, ready assembled with a spring and contact plunger, supplied as a one-piece item. They are usually gold plated as gold is an excellent electrical conductor and is resistant to corrosion. Through this mounting system, the spring contacts can quickly exchange without the wiring has to be replaced. Probes are a durable component, which can perform several hundred thousand contact cycles with stable contact resistance.  You can use the spring contacts in testing of printed circuit boards.

The major advantages of a spring loaded test probes are:

·         Longevity
·         Constant Contact Resistance
·         Interchangeable
·         Easy installation in the test adapter by using receptacles
·         High Pointing Accuracy
·         High Current and high frequencies possible.
